Kelly Leigh Green of Kinston and William Bernie Barfield of La Grange were united in marriage at 2 p.m. Feb. 6, 2010, at Bethel Free Will Baptist Church in Kinston. The Rev. Chris Singleton officiated the ceremony.
Escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents, the bride is the daughter of Paul Linwood Green of Kinston and Shirley Hollomon Green of Pink Hill.
She is a dental assistant in the office of Dr. Ricky Carlyle.
The groom is the son of Doris Barwick Barfield of La Grange and the late William Earl Barfield.
He is a sales representative with Dixie/Bocock Sports.
Following a wedding tip to Valle Crucis, the couple resides in Wheat Swamp.
Matron of honor was the bride’s sister, Sheri Green Whitfield of Ayden.
Bridesmaids were Teresa Heath, Stephanie Letchworth and Emily Wade, all of Kinston; Jennifer Harrell of Goldsboro; and Kim Batchelor of Trenton.
Junior bridesmaids were the groom’s daughters, Peyton Barfield and Karsen Barfield, both of Winterville.
Best man was Jimmy Smith of Deep Run.
Groomsmen were Tony Parrish of Kinston; Lind Hartsell of La Grange; Alan Dupree of Knightdale; Mike Garriss of La Grange; and Neil Hockaday of Four Oaks.
Music was provided by Weil Sawyer, pianist and organist; and the Rev. Haywood Smith and Lisa Harrison, vocalists.
The wedding was directed by Bridgette Houston.
Register attendant was Hannah Heath, and program attendants were Karmen Heath and Madison Parrish.
Reception/parties
Immediately following the ceremony, a reception was given in the church fellowship hall by the women of the church. Serving cake and punch were Vickie Singleton and Becky Smith.
On Jan. 27, a luncheon was given by co-workers of the bride at the office of Dr. Ricky Carlyle.
On Feb. 5, a rehearsal dinner was given by Leon and Jewel Wells, Chris and Vickie Singleton, Bob and Nancy Lee, and Doris Barfield at the Family Life Center of Westside Free Will Baptist Church.
