Ellis-Barton

Miranda Lee Ellis of Dover and Jeremy Ross Barton of Greensboro were united in marriage at 5:30 p.m. Sept. 19, 2009, at St. John’s United Methodist Church in Greensboro. The Rev. Steve Roberts officiated the ceremony.

Escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents, the bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jeffrey Lee Ellis of Dover.

She is the granddaughter of Peggy Ellis of North Wilkesboro and the late Royce Ellis; and Mr. and Mrs. William Ray Allen of Gran Prairie, Texas.

A graduate of East Carolina University with a Bachelor of Science in business administration, she is a payor account services with Advanced Home Care.

The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Bobby Barton of Greensboro. He is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. George Barton, who lived in Greensboro; and Mr. and Mrs. Linwood Wheeler of Liberty.

A graduate of ECU with a B.S. in biology, he is a gross specimen technician with Greensboro Pathology.

Following a wedding cruise to the Bahamas, the couple resides in Stokesdale.

The bride wore an Oleg Cassini ivory champagne strapless satin gown with a cinched bust, beaded lace bodice, and pick-up skirt with chantilly lace hem that flowed into a chapel-length train.

Her finger tip-length veil of organza, edged with champagne pearls, flowed from a delicate tiara adorned with Swarovski crystals and gold metallic leaves.

She carried a cascading bouquet of Picasso and burgundy mini calla lilies mixed with ivory and lavender roses, complemented by Italian ruscus greenery along with a memory picture charm of her grandfather.

Maid of honor was the bride’s sister, Kayla Lynne Ellis of Greenville.

Bridesmaids were Tara Massood and Rachel Matthews, both of New Jersey; and Natalie Henderson of Greensboro.

Junior bridesmaid was the bride’s cousin, Lindsay Allen of Richmond, Va.

Flower girl was Emily Moore of Charlotte.

The groom’s father was his son’s best man.

Groomsmen were the groom’s brother, Chad Barton; Andy Bottomly; and the groom’s cousin, Joey Barton, all of Greensboro.

Junior groomsman was Jonah Severt of North Wilkesboro.

Ring bearer was the bride’s cousin, Cameron Ellis of North Wilkesboro.

Music was provided by pianist, Jackie Johnson; vocalist, Dana Cato; cellist, Lloyd Eubanks; and soundboard, Christopher Roberts.

The wedding was directed by Debbie Roberts. Register attendant was Sara Bunce.

 

Reception/parties

Following the ceremony, a dinner dance reception was given by the bride’s parents at Bryan Park Country Club in Greensboro. Music was provided by Ed Peuch, CK Entertainment of New Bern.

On Aug. 8, a bridal shower was given by Kayla Ellis.

On Aug. 18, a bridal shower was given by co-workers of the bride.

On Sept. 18, a rehearsal dinner was given by the groom’s parents at St. John United Methodist Church.

On Sept. 19, a bridal brunch was given by the bride’s grandmother at Sweet Basils in Greensboro.
