Rick and Rickey Foss take top honors on Bojanles’ at Lawson’s Creek
The father and son team of Rickey and Rick Foss of La Grange, captured top honors at the seventh stop of the Bojangles’ Trounament Trail Tournament held at Lawson’s Creek in New Bern on Aug. 12.The event was the last chance to anglers to qualify for the 2006 Classic, slated for Sept. 16-17.
The Foss’ caught four bass weighing 14.48-pounds. Jared and Kevin Sutton finished second with four bass weighing 12.57-pounds.
Kinston’s Roger Mewborn and Dickie Killinger finished fifth with five bass weighing 11.53-pounds. Randy and Eric Brown, of Kinston, finished sixth. They also had the biggest single catch with a bass that tipped the scales at 5.75-pounds.
Kinston’s Earl and Jeremy Miller finished seventh with five bass weighing 11.02-pounds, and Joe Hargett and J.K. West, of Kinston, ccaught five bass weighing 10.99-pounds.
In the Am division, Glenn Johnson and Ronnie Rouse took top honors with five bass weighing 12.64-pounds. Pink Hill’s James Tyndall and Deep Run’s Jody Summer finished second in the Am division, and had took the giant bass award with a single catch weighing 8.11-pounds.
This year’s Bojangles’ Classic will be held on the Pamlico-Tar River system out of the Washington Park city ramp Sept. 15-16. It features the top 60 percent in points for the entire season.
The $45,000 payback features the Murphy/Brown Grand Prize Triton 186 Boat powered by a 150 hp Mercury Optimax engine with a retail value of $25,000. Murphy/Brown LLC, as a corporate sponsor, purchases and donates this boat and engine to the tournament trail. That’s why we have $27,000 in cash plus a $25,000
Triton Boat as the payback for the Bojangles’ Classic. The weigh-in is slated for Sept. 16 at Washington City ramp at 3 p.m.
