Mr. and Mrs. Jon Starcala

Anna Herndon and Jon Starcala, both of Leland were united in marriage on May 15, 2010, on Bald Head Island. Jim Brown performed the 4 p.m. ceremony.

The bride is the daughter of Mary Hillmer of Raleigh and David Herndon of Kenly.

The groom is the son of John and Mickie Starcala of Jacksonville.

The bride was attended by matron of honor Crystal Striffler of Leland. Bridesmaids were Jill Starcala of Jacksonville; Genny Smith of Raleigh; Alyssa Doiron of Wilmington and Brittany Lankford of Leland.

The groom chose Josh Pierce of Leland as his best man. Groomsmen were Matthew Herndon of Raleigh; Robert Cunningham of Kenly; Phil Thompson of Tampa, Fla.; Justin Heady of Southport; and Chef Starcala of Leland. Junior groomsman was Aidan Hilton of Jacksonville.

The wedding reception was held at the River Pilot Café in Bald Head Island.

The bride graduated from Hunt High School and the University of North Carolina at Wilmington. She is an accountant with Worsley Operating Corp.

The groom graduated from Jacksonville High School and Cape Fear Community College. He is a chef with Cape Fear Country Club.

The couple took a honeymoon trip to Paris, France.

They reside in Leland.
