Local Student Graduates with Honors from University of South Carolina

Jonathan Brett Barwick was recently awarded Bachelors degrees in both Mathematics and Music from the University of South Carolina Honors College. Brett completed both degrees within a four year period and earned summa cum laude recognition in both areas of study.

In addition to his degrees, Brett also received the 2006-2007 Jeong S. Yang award for excellence in mathematics and the 2006-2007 Thomas L. Markham Mathematics Scholarship from USC. Brett is currently pursuing a PhD in mathematics at the University of South Carolina. He is a graduate of Arendell Parrott Academy in Kinston. He is the son of Dr. Todd Barwick and Mrs. Diane Barwick of Kinston.
