Tilghman-Dody

Stacey Renee Tilghman and Martin Ross Dody, both of Winterville, were united in marriage at 2 p.m. June 20, 2009, at Covenant United Methodist Church in Winterville. The Rev. Jay Buckingham officiated the ceremony.

Escorted and given in marriage by her father, the bride is the daughter of Patricia Pearce Williams of La Grange and Gilbert Ernest Tilghman of Kinston. She is the granddaughter of Isabelle Pearce Barwick of Kinston, and the late Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Tilghman.

A graduate of Lenoir Community College's Surgical Technology program, she is an operating room surgical technologist II at Pitt County Memorial Hospital.

The groom is the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Steven Charles Dody. He is the grandson of Christine Berger of Tucson, Ariz., and the late Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Dody.

He has a bachelor's degree in science and technology and is project manager with Gouras Walls and Ceilings.

Following a wedding trip to Antigua, the couple resides in Winterville.

The bride wore a white satin A-line gown with a beaded embroidered metallic bodice and inverted V-empire waistline. The back bodice flowed into a cathedral-length train.

Her veil cascaded from a tiara, and she carried a bouquet of Casablanca and stargazer lilies and white roses.

Matron of honor was the bride's sister, Tracey Tilghman Whitley of Winterville. Bridesmaids were the bride's sisters, Christy Nicole Thompson and Ashley Brooke Thompson, both of La Grange.

The bride's niece, Saylor Renae Whitley of Winterville, was the flower girl.

The groom's brother, Michael William Dody of Wichita, Kan., was the best man. Groomsmen were Garry Curtis Whitley II of Winterville, the bride's brother-in-law, and Gilbert Scott Tilghman of Raleigh, the bride's brother.

Ushers were Walter Irving Bench III of Raleigh and Christopher Scott Young of Greenville.

 

Reception/parties

Following the ceremony, a reception was given at the Greenville Country Club by the bride and groom.

On Feb. 28, an engagement party was given by friends and family.

April 30-May 3, a bachelorette party was given by the bride's sister in Myrtle Beach, S.C.

On May 28, a basket shower was given by Brandi Baker at her home.

On May 29, the bride's co-workers gave a miscellaneous shower at The Daily Grind.

On June 6, a miscellaneous shower was given by family at the home of Patricia Williams.

On June 19, a rehearsal dinner was given by the bride and groom at CPW's.
