Dawson-Wade

Megan Claire Dawson and Robert Lee Wade, both of Holly Springs, were married at 5 p.m. Oct. 11, 2008, at Country Club of the Crystal Coast in Pine Knoll Shores. Brad Mitchell was the officiating minister.

Escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents, the bride is the daughter of Dickie and Penny Dawson of La Grange. She is the granddaughter of Lon and Rachel Dawson, also of La Grange.

A 2003 graduate of North Lenoir High School and a 2007 graduate of the University of North Carolina with a degree in journalism and mass communication, she is an interactive production coordinator with McKinney Advertising Agency in Durham.

The groom is the son of Bobby and Ann Wade of Grifton. He is the grandson of Pearlie Wade of Maury.

A 1999 graduate of NLHS, he earned a Bachelor of Science in business administration in 2003 and a Masters in business administration in 2005 from East Carolina University. He is a database administrator with the North Carolina Education Lottery in Raleigh.

Following a wedding trip to Riviera Maya, Mexico, the couple resides in Holly Springs.

The bride wore an allover beaded lace trumpet-style dress with an illusion halter neckline and matching ivory sash. Her fingertip, two-tiered illusion veil was adorned with matching beadwork.

She carried a hand-tied bouquet of white roses, green Fuji mums, white hydrangea, purple statice and hypericum berries, tied with ivory ribbon.

Erin Dawson of La Grange, sister of bride, was maid of honor.

Bridesmaids were the bride's cousin, Brittany Harrison of La Grange; the groom's sister, Teresa Thompson of Grifton; and Sara Dawson and Chrissy Teeter, both of Durham.

Junior bridesmaids were the bride's cousin, Katie Harrison of La Grange; and the groom's niece, Leah Thompson of Grifton.

The bride's cousins, Riley Kunstel and Catherine Chadwick of Bristow, Va., were flower girls.

The groom's father was his son's best man.

Groomsmen were the groom's brother-in-law, Greg Thompson of Grifton; Heith Harrison and Brandon Foss, both of La Grange; and Rick DeCola of Raleigh.

Brett Thompson of Grifton, the groom's nephew, was the ring bearer.

Jennifer Colomb Salter was the wedding coordinator.

Leigh Anne Herring of Rocky Mount was register attendant. The bride's cousin, Grace Chadwick of Bristow, Va., was the program attendant.

Music was provided by Simple Gifts string trio of Morehead City, and the bride's aunt, Lori Chadwick of Charlotte, vocalist.

Reception/Parties

Immediately following the ceremony, a reception was given by the bride's parents at the Country Club of the Crystal Coast.

On Dec. 15, an engagement party was given by the bride's parents at their home.

On June 15, a bridal shower was given by the bride's family at La Grange First Missionary Baptist Church.

On July 26, a pig picking was given by Don and Sue Smith of Goldsboro at their river home in Aurora.

On Aug. 9, a his and her shower was given by Erin Dawson, Sara Dawson, Rick DeCola, Brandon Foss, Heith and Brittany Harrison, and Chrissy Teeter at Erin Dawson's home.

On Aug. 24, a bridal shower was given by the groom's family at the home of Teresa Thompson.

On Aug. 30, a shrimp boil was given at the beach home of the groom's parents in Beaufort.

On the Sept. 12 weekend, a bachelorette party was given by the bridesmaids in Myrtle Beach, S.C.

On Sept. 27, a bachelor party was given by the groomsmen in Raleigh.

On Oct. 4, a bridesmaids' luncheon was given by Teresa Severson, Ann Harrison and Rachel Dawson at the Lane Tree Golf Club in Goldsboro.

On Oct. 10, a rehearsal dinner as given at Clawson's Restaurant in Beaufort by the groom's parents.

On Oct. 12, a morning-after brunch was at Shooter's Restaurant in Atlantic Beach.
