Lawrence and Dorothy Bertha of Chicago announce the engagement of their daughter, Candace Bertha of Chicago, to Christopher Ashford of Gurnee, Ill., son of Phillip and Ernestine Ashford of Kinston. A May 31 wedding is planned in Chicago.
