Virginia Pate Thomas of Beaufort and William Thomas Shreve of Wilson were united in marriage on Oct. 24, 2009, at Ann St. Methodist Church in Beaufort with the Rev. Eric N. Lindblade officiating.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Thomas Jr. of Beaufort and the granddaughter of Oleta Stilley of New Bern.
The bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. William Shreve of Wilson and the grandson of Thomas E. Shreve of Wilson.
The bride was given in marriage by her father.
Nuptial music was provided by vocalist Caleb Skinner, pianist Brenda Lewis, organist Kandice Davis, trumpeter Joe McCreary, and violinist Darla Vick.
Maid of honor was Christina Wygand of Wilson.
Bridesmaids were Kathryn Beddard of Greenville, Renea Bell of Beaufort, Mary Brake of Houston, Texas, Kristen Nelson of Raleigh and Joanna Ragon of Virginia Beach, Va.
Best man was William H. Shreve of Wilson, father of the groom.
Groomsmen were William Johnson of Bermuda Run, John Shreve, brother of the groom, Clinton O’Hara and Joel Stadiem, all of Wilson, and Les Thomas of Beaufort, brother of the bride.
Ushers were Joshua Davis of Chapel Hill, Edwin Garrison of Atlanta, Ga., and Robert Parker of Wilmington.
Mason Thomas was the bell ringer.
A reception, hosted by the parents of the bride, was held at The Dunes Club, Atlantic Beach.
The couple took a honeymoon trip to St. Kitts.
The bride graduated from East Carolina University and is employed by Hunt High School as an English teacher.
The bridegroom graduated from the UNC-Chapel Hill and is employed by Smith and Smith Insurance.
The couple will reside in Wilson.
