Terry and Brenda Hall of New Bern announce the engagement of their daughter, Courtney McIntosh Hall, to Jeremy Michael Tavares, both of Greenville.

The bridegroom-elect is the son of Ray and Ruth Sanders of New Bern and Alex and Carolyn Tavares of Aurora.

The bride-elect graduated from UNC-Wilmington and is employed by East Carolina Bank.

The bridegroom-elect attends East Carolina University.

A wedding is planned for Jan. 16, 2010, at First Baptist Church in New Bern.
