Laura Susanne Sutton and Christopher Scott Young, both of Greenville, were united in marriage on July 17, 2010, at Trinity United Methodist Church in New Bern with the Rev. Charlene Pierce Guider, pastor, officiating.
The bride is the daughter of Sherwood Russell and Ruth Carolyn Colie Sutton of New Bern. She is the granddaughter of the late Sherwood and Gladys Sutton and Patty Sutton, and Prentice and Durema (Rene) Colie, all of La Grange.
The bridegroom is the son of Richard Bruce and Jane Swing Young of Greenville and is the grandson of Foil David and Vivian Snyder Swing of Welcome, Melvin Clement Young of Lexington, and the late Martha Leonard Young.
The bride was given in marriage by her parents.
The matron of honor was Trish Vandersea of Durham.
Maid of honor was Janna Gregonis of Kutztown, Pa.
Bridesmaids were Natalie Barringer, Amanda Morris, and Laura Phipps, all of Greenville, and Allyson Hill, Tonya Miles, and Julie Ramsay, all of Winterville.
Best man was Jeffery Young of Greenville, brother of the groom.
Groomsmen were James Brazeal of Southport, Corey Johnson of Raleigh, Ben Joyner and Aaron Quinn, both of Greenville, Justin Thomas and Travis Turnage, both of Winterville.
Usher was Preston Joyner of Winterville.
Assisting with the wedding were readers Juan Castillo of Winterville and Janna Gregonis, musicians and vocalists Lynne Scott and Johnny and Kathy Mattox and guestbook and program attendants Jeanette Little of New Bern and Mark Carson of Winterville.
The couple took a honeymoon trip to Puerto Rico.
The bride graduated from ECU. She is employed by Pitt County Schools and is the owner of Laura Sutton Jewelry Designs.
The bridegroom graduated from Pitt Community College and is employed with Gouras Walls and Ceilings.
They plan to live in Greenville.
