Wayland Hardee of Ayden announces the engagement of his daughter, Kristy Hardee Thompson of Ayden, to Ira Clifton Whitford of Ernul.
Thompson is also the daughter of the late Pansy Sue Hardee.
The bridegroom-elect is the son of McRay and Charlotte Whitford of Ernul.
The bride-elect graduated from East Carolina University and is employed by Aldridge and Southerland Realtors.
The bridegroom-elect graduated from West Craven High School and attended Craven Community College. He is employed by Craven County Emergency Management.
A wedding is planned for Nov. 8, 2008, at New Haven Free Will Baptist Church.
