Dalton-Robinson

Elizabeth Lynnette Dalton and John Arthur Robinson, both of Raleigh, were united in marriage August 8, 2009, at the Lakeside Gazebo on Rumbling Bald Resort, Lake Lure, with the Rev. Gerald Davis officiating.

The bride is the daughter of Lt. Gov. and Mrs. Walter and Lucille Dalton of Rutherfordton and the granddaughter of Archie Hodge of Rutherfordton and the late Beatrice Bridges Hodge and the late Charles C. and Amanda Haynes Dalton.

The bridegroom is the son of Dr. and Mrs. Joseph and Sandra Robinson of New Bern and the grandson of                the late Arthur and Celia Dynda Harford and the late Joseph Sr. and Mary Baker Robinson.

The bride was given in marriage by her parents.

Maid of honor was Leslie Anne Bennett of Winston-Salem.

Bridesmaids were Becky Harris of Raleigh, Laurie Hendrick of Shelby, Nikki Kontoulas of North Myrtle Beach, S.C., Kelly Martin of Rutherfordton, Elizabeth Rhodes of Raleigh, and Julia Turner of Raleigh.

Best man was Dr. J. Bradford Smith of Columbia, S.C.            

Groomsmen were Britt Barham of Durham, Tony Barwick of Raleigh, Michael Burkett of Wilmington, Chris Campbell of Stamford, Conn., Mike Edwards of Charlotte, and Jason Parker of Raleigh.

Assisting with the wedding was Linda Edgerton, who directed the wedding ceremony and arranged the flowers for the reception. Brian Walter Dalton, brother of the bride, and Ms. Carolyn Young provided the videography. The groom’s parents hosted a rehearsal dinner at the Lake Lure Inn, and a bridal brunch was hosted by friends of the bride’s family, Greer Dalton and Laurie Hendrick, both of Shelby, and Mrs. Ann Deviney of Rutherfordton.

A reception, hosted by the bride’s parents, was held on the Lakeview Patio at Rumbling Bald Resort with entertainment by the Frank Love Orchestra.

The couple took a honeymoon trip to Hawaii.

The bride graduated from R-S Central High School and UNC-Chapel Hill and is employed by the N.C. Retail Merchants Association as the director of Government Relations.

The bridegroom graduated from Virginia Episcopal School and UNC-Chapel Hill and is employed by Morgan Stanley Smith Barney in Durham as a financial advisor.

The couple will reside in Raleigh.
