A pickup truck overturned in a ditch on Lake Road four miles southwest of Havelock on Wednesday morning and its four occupants escaped unhurt.
The driver, Victor Olague, 27, of Havelock, his wife, Lindsey Olague, and their two children Jade Olague, 5, and Seth Olague, 10, managed to get themselves out of the vehicle before rescue crews arrived, according to North Carolina Highway Patrol Trooper Jimmy High.
"Nobody was hurt, beleive it or not," High said.
The four declined to be transported to the hospital.
The crash happened at about 8:25 a.m. on a curve in the rain-slick, two-lane road.
Olague was driving a Silver Dodge Ram pickup truck when he slid off the road and into the ditch. The vehicle ended up almost completely upside down.
The wreck happened at nearly the same spot where a young Marine flipped his car into the same ditch on Sept. 14 and was rescued by other Marines.
On Wednesday, the ditch was not flooded as had been the case on Sept. 14.
Havelock, Township Six and Cherry Point rescue personnel responded to the crash.
High said that Olague has not been cited in the wreck.
The wreck is still under investigation.
