Gardner-Langston

Clarence Michael Gardner and Linda Smith Gardner of New Bern are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter, Kimberly Gardner to Ernie Langston Jr., youngest son of Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Langston of Kinston.

The couple will be united in marriage Saturday, April 17, 2010, at three o’clock in the afternoon. Presiding over the ceremony is Pastor Jeff Swain at Broad Creek Christian Church. 

The bride is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jesse Gardner of New Bern and the late Mr. Elijah M. Smith and Mrs. Helen Evon Smith of New Bern. The groom is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Joel French of Dover and the late Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Langston of Kinston. 

The bride will be escorted down the aisle and given away by her mother and father. The wedding will be decorated using calla lilies and nautical décor. 

The matron of honor is Pamela Willis, long time best friend of the bride, of Havelock. Bridesmaids are Michelle Gibson, sister of the bride, of New Bern; Augusta Carroll, friend of the bride, of Mt. Airy; and Faith Langston, daughter of the groom, of Kinston. The best man is Riley Grady, long time best friend of the groom, of Kinston. Groomsmen are Ernie Langston III, son of the groom, of Kinston; Ricky Grady, friend of the groom, of Kinston; and Brian Willis, friend of the groom, of Havelock. The ring bearer is Michael Gibson, nephew of the bride, of New Bern and the flower girl is Mia Swain, daughter of family friends, of New Bern.

Coordinating the wedding and events are Mrs. Linda S. Gardner and Mrs. Linda G. Gibson. The wedding ceremony will include songs performed by Mr. and Mrs. Chuck Holton, also assisting with the ceremony is Mrs. Robin Swain. The bride and groom will be having a wedding shower in March at Broad Creek Christian Church hosted by Mrs. Linda G. Gibson. The reception will be immediately following the wedding ceremony at Broad Creek Christian Church, which will be hosted by Mrs. Linda S. Gardner and the “Girlfriends” of BCCC. Mr. and Mrs. Matt Purvis of New Bern will perform the photography.

The bride is a 2004 graduate of Craven Community College and is employed with the Production Engineering group of ASMO located in Greenville. The groom is employed as the vice president of PECO Electric in Kinston.

The couple will be taking a seven-day cruise to Jamaica, Mexico, Grand Cayman Islands, and Haiti. The couple will reside in New Bern.
