Gibson-Sutton
Candice Desirae Gibson of Centreville, Va., and General Sutton III of Baltimore, formerly of Kinston, were married at noon Feb. 16, 2008, at Sheraton Park South in Midlothian, Va. The Rev. Ghouse Syed Hyder officiated the ceremony.
Escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents, the bride is the daughter of Douglas Wendell Gibson Sr. and Clarice Foster Gibson of Midlothian, Va. She is the granddaughter of the late Wilbert Stanley Gibson and Vera Robinson Gibson, and James Edward Foster and the late Virginia Barley Foster of Amelia, Va.
A 2005 graduate of Virginia Tech in Blacksburg, Va., the bride is employed as a transportation engineer at the Virginia Department of Transportation.
The groom is the son of General Sutton Jr. of Grifton, and Hattie Cobb Strickland and George S. Strickland of Dover. He is the grandson of the late General Lawrence Sutton and the late Mozelle Hutchins Sutton, who lived in Kinston, and the late Benjamin Cobb and the late Hattie Louise Cobb, who lived in Dover.
A 2003 graduate of East Carolina University, the groom is employed as a software developer for CRI Systems.
The couple is planning a wedding trip to Hawaii. They reside in Germantown, Md.
Maid of honor was Laura Kathryn Smith of Richmond, Va.
Best man was Charles Christopher Richberg II of Abingdon, Md.
