Symphony looking for high school musicians

The North Carolina Symphony Young All-Stars, an exclusive new chamber orchestra for advanced high school musicians, is inviting North Carolina high school students between the ages of 14-10 to participate in an audition.

The audition will be at Meymandi Concert Hall at downtown Raleigh’s Progress Energy Center for the Performing Arts on Sept. 26. Requirements, application and further details can be found at their Web site

The North Carolina Symphony Young All-Stars is led by its Music Director Grant Llewellyn in partnership with the Triangle’s Philharmonic Association and its Music Director Hugh Partridge.

The new group’s schedule includes concerts on Sunday, Dec. 6 and Sunday, April 11, as well as several rehearsal sessions for each performance.

For students who live out of the area, accommodations in private homes can be provided.
