James-Holley
Brook Lane James and Jack Battle Wells Holley were married at 5:30 p.m. June 7, 2008, at First Baptist Church in Wallace. The double-ring ceremony was performed by Brad Carter, pastor.
Escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents, the bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Stanley James of Wallace. She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Adell Henderson and Hazel James, all of Wallace, and the late Roe James.
The bride is a graduate of East Carolina University with a degree in business and marketing education. She is pursuing a master's in counseling education at ECU and is a school counselor at South Lenoir High School.
The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Jack Holley of Teachey. He is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Julius Wells and Mr. and Mrs. William Holley.
A graduate of Louisburg College and the University of North Carolina at Wilmington with a degree in physical education, he is a physical education teacher and head football coach at Kinston High School.
Following a wedding trip to Hawaii, the couple is living in Kinston.
The bride wore a halter style white Italian satin gown by Boutique Collection. It was embellished with platinum embroidery and rhinestones, bugle beads and sequin beading. The fitted bodice was designed with a horizontal drop waistline. The A-line skirt flowed into a cathedral-length train.
Her fingertip-length, white tulle veil, trimmed with beading, was borrowed from Mrs. Morgan Murray. The bride carried a bouquet of fuchsia callas encircled with baby's breath, coffee beans and loops of lily grass.
The bride's sister, Monica Bennett of Wallace, was matron of honor. Bridesmaids were the groom's sisters, Jemma Imwalle of Wallace and Julianne Williams of Beulaville; Danielle Brown of Richlands; Ashlea Hollingsworth of Provo, Utah; Anna Lanier and Laurie Sholar, both of Chinquapin; and Katie McMahon of Pink Hill.
Honorary bridesmaids were Ashley Osik of Wallace and Jessica Sumner of Beulaville. The groom's niece, Anna Jack Imwalle, was the flower girl.
The groom's father was his son's best man. Groomsmen were the groom's brothers-in-law, Scott Imwalle of Wallace and Al Williams of Beulaville; Heath Altman of Wilmington; Brian Dempsey of Concord; Richard Hawes and David Knowles, both of Rose Hill; and Jason Rouse of Dunn.
The bride's nephew, Perry Bennett, and the groom's nephew, Walker Imwalle, were junior groomsmen.
The wedding directors were Janet Walker and Emily Jessup.
Register attendants were Trey Williams and Candace Williams.
Music was provided by Karla Casteen, pianist/organist, and Kayla Carter, vocalist.
Reception/parties
Immediately following the ceremony, a reception was held poolside at River Landing. Mr. and Mrs. Pete Blanton and Mr. and Mrs. Jason Bryan were greeters.
On April 18, a dinner party was given at the Bistro at Duplin Winery by Mr. and Mrs. Archie Carter, Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Cottle, Mr. and Mrs. Delana Johnson, Carolyn Murphy, Mr. and Mrs. Bill Schuyler, and Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Smith.
On April 19, a gift card party was given by Anna Lanier, Katie McMahon and Laurie Sholar at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Shayne Sholar.
On May 2, a bed, bath and beyond-themed shower was given by Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Batten, Mr. and Mrs. Pete Blanton, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Burroughs, Jeff Hargrove, Debbie Williams, Ivey Jones, Mark Myers, and Mr. and Mrs. Robert Walker at the Blanton home.
On May 4, a miscellaneous shower was given by family and friends of the bride in the fellowship hall at the Church at Pin Hook.
On May 10, a honey-do shower was given in Tabor City by Terry and Linda Bell, Clark and Tammy Dorman, Buddy and Alice Fonvielle, Jake Fonvielle, Leon Edward and LeeAnn Fonvielle, Richard and Sarah Gore, Gilbert and Norris Hunt, Bobby and Cathy Jones, Ben and Saundra Norman, Joey and Jerri Lou Price, Alan and Roxanne Wright, and Jerry and Carrie Lou Wright.
On May 17, a bridal luncheon was given by Jacque Hollingsworth and Barbara James at The Pilot House in Wilmington.
On May 18, a bridal shower was given by the women at Kingdom Builders at the Kingdom Builders Headquarters.
On May 23, a lingerie shower was given by Monica Bennett, Jemma Imwalle, Laurie Sholar and Julianne Williams.
On May 24, a grill and chill party was given at Rockfish Country Club by Glenn and Phyllis Batten, Jack and Lois Rivenbark, Mitch and Bonnie Robinson, Mark and Michelle Scronce, Mike and Brenda Scronce, Wesley and Gail Scronce, Adam Scronce and Candace Cavenaugh.
On June 6, a day of golf was enjoyed by the guys at Rockfish Country Club.
On June 6, a rehearsal dinner and dance was given by the groom's parents at the Bistro at Duplin Winery.
On Aug. 2, the couple celebrated with Mr. and Mrs. Jason Bryan, Mr. and Mrs. Richard Hawes, Mr. and Mrs. David Knowles, Brad Rivenbark and Mandy Short, and Mr. and Mrs. Jason Rouse in Kinston.
