Yard sale benefit

Possumwood Acres Wildlife Sanctuary will hold a yard sale benefit in Hubert Saturday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The yard sale will be held at the intersection of Hubert Boulevard and N.C. 24 across from Hubert Volunteer Fire Department. All proceeds will help care for sick and injured wildlife.

Funfest Flip Flopping Beach Party

The 11th annual Funfest Flip Flopping Beach Party will be held Saturday from 7 p.m. to midnight at the Crystal Coast Civic Center in Morehead City. Hosted by Steve Hardy, the festival will have music by the Craig Woolard Band and food to help raise money for the N.C. Seafood Festival in October. Guests can enter a 50/50 raffle or Flip Flop Bucket Drop for unique items. Tickets are $45 in advance and $50 at the door. Armed Forces Wrestling comes to base

Camp Lejeune will prepare for its 2010 Armed Forces Wrestling Championship Tournament held Saturday and Sunday at Goettge Memorial Field House aboard Camp Lejeune. Army, Navy, Air Force and Marine Corps wrestling teams will battle it out on the mat. Matches will be held in the Greco-Roman and Freestyle wrestling formats.
