Ewell-Romig

Treva Elizabeth Ewell and Joseph Adam Romig, both of Kinston, were married at 4 p.m. May 19, 2007, at First Baptist Church in Kinston. The Rev. Charles Towery performed the ceremony. Escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents, the bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Wayne A. Ewell Jr. of Kinston. She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Chester Heath, also of Kinston.

The bride earned a bachelor's degree in 2004 and a master's degree in 2007 from East Carolina University. She teaches English at Kinston High School.

The groom is the son of Joseph William Romig of Seven Springs and the late Mary Ann Romig.

He was awarded a bachelor's degree from La Salle University in Pennsylvania in 1998 and earned a master's degree from ECU in 2003. He is a science teacher at KHS.

Following a cruise to Grand Caymen and Jamaica, the couple will reside in Kinston.

The bride wore a white satin princess gown with re-embroidered lace accented with pearls and sequins. The back was ornamented with satin buttons extending down a semi-cathedral train.

Her white, elbow-length veil which flowed from a tiara, was adorned with scattered crystal beads and pearls. She carried a bouquet of cascading white roses, orchids and yellow lilies.

Lynn Ewell of New Bern, the bride's sister, was maid of honor.

Bridesmaids were the groom's sister, Mary Romig of Seven Springs; the bride's cousin, Luanne Rogers of Youngsville; Kim Brescher of Toms River, N.J.; and Sandy Pelis of Elizabeth City.

Charles Griffith of Kinston was the best man.

Groomsmen were the groom's brothers, Chris Romig and Scott Romig, both of Seven Springs; Ben Kerr of Drexel Hill, Pa.; and Lemuel Heida of Jacksonville.

Reception/Parties

Immediately following the ceremony, a reception was given by the parents of the bride at Falling Creek Country Club.

On March 17, a shower was given by Sandra Byrd, Alicia Byrd, Luanne Rogers, Patricia Heath and Mary Heath at Neuse Baptist Church.

On March 22, a shower was given by Ashley Holland, Frances Herring and Teri Connor at Kinston High School.

On April 29, a shower was given by the KHS men's varsity, women's junior varsity and varsity soccer teams and parents at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Tony Weeks.

On May 18, a bridesmaids' luncheon was given by Cindy Miller, Tricia Heath, Lynn Ewell and Shirley Ewell.

On May 18, a lingerie shower was given by Lynn Ewell at the home of Shirley Ewell.

On May 18, a rehearsal dinner was given at the Baron and the Beef Restaurant in Kinston.
