Dawson-Hardison

Ashley Marie Dawson and Jason Herman Hardison, both of Kinston, were married at 7 p.m. Feb. 29, 2008, at Trinity United Methodist Church in Kinston. The Rev. Joyce Odom performed the ceremony.

Escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents, the bride is the daughter of William Riley Dawson and Dale Rouse Dawson of Kinston. She is the granddaughter of Louise Dawson Forbes of Kinston and the late Jack Dawson; and Lucy Rouse of Kinston and the late Maurice Rouse.

A 2003 North Lenoir High School graduate and a 2007 Lenoir Community College graduate with an Associate of Applied Science in nursing, she is a registered nurse with the Golden Living Center in Greenville.

The groom is the son of Herman Hardison and Candace Cromer Hardison of Kinston. He is the grandson of Doris Cromer of Kinston and the late Ronald Cromer, who lived in Saluda, and the late Margaret and Tom Hardison, who lived in Kinston.

A 1998 graduate of South Lenoir High School, he completed a degree program from LCC in 1990. He is a correctional officer with the Greene County Department of Corrections.

Following a wedding trip to Las Vegas, the couple lives in Greenville.

The bride wore an ivory silk taffeta gown with pick-up skirting. The beaded bodice featured beaded lace sleeves and a chapel-length train.

Her beaded ivory veil flowed from an ivory silk rose. Her ivory silk hand-tied bouquet, which she made, was accompanied by a Bible given to her at birth by her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Jack Dawson.

The bride's sister, Karen Boyles of Kinston, was the matron of honor. Bridesmaids were the bride's cousin, Sara Dawson of Chapel Hill, and Jennifer Ballance of Rosewood.

Flower girls were the groom's daughters, Mazie and Lilly Hardison of Kinston.

The groom's father was his son's best man. Groomsmen were Kenny Jones of Kinston, David Hardison and the bride's nephew, Rob Parsons of Kinston.

The wedding was directed by Jennifer Doughtie.

Music was provided by Debbie Lancaster, pianist; and Chelsea Brasch and Tripp Hill, vocalists, all of Kinston.

Lisa Jones of Kinston was videographer.

Janice Little and Jennifer Doughtie, both of Winterville, were servers at the reception, which followed the ceremony.
