Heather Nicole Wade and Joshua Paul Gates, both of Kinston, were united in marriage at 4 p.m. Aug. 7, 2010, at Bethel Free Will Baptist Church in Kinston. The Rev. Robert Spruill officiated the ceremony.
Escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents, the bride is the daughter of Chuck Wade and Penny Wade of Kinston. She is the granddaughter of Faye Stancill of Kinston and Charles Wade Sr. of Grifton.
The bride is enrolled at Pitt Community College in the medical sonography program.
The groom is the son of Donnie Gates and Dianne Gates of Kinston. He is the grandson of Martha Quinn of Potter’s Hill.
A graduate of North Carolina State University with a bachelors degree in mechanical engineering, he is an estimator with Pro. 356 Electric Company.
Following a wedding trip to Pigeon Forge, Tenn., the couple resides in Kinston.
Maid of honor was the bride’s sister, Jessica Wade of Kinston.
Bridesmaids were the groom’s sisters, Jessica Coghill of Florence, S.C., and Jacqueline Maddox and Joanna Pike, both of Kinston.
The groom’s father served as his son’s best man.
Groomsmen were the groom’s brothers-in-law, Blake Coghill of Florence, S.C., and Timothy Maddox and Bryan Pike, both of Kinston.
The groom’s nephews, Logan Pike and Landon Pike of Kinston, were junior usher and ring bearer, respectively.
Following the ceremony, a reception was given by the bride’s parents at Bethel FWB Church.
