Cole-Felice

Melissa Dawn Cole and Christopher James Felice, both of Newport News, Va., were united in marriage at 2 p.m. Oct. 8, 2011, at Saint Joan of Arc Catholic Church in Yorktown, Va. The Rev. Michael Joly performed the ceremony.

Escorted and given in marriage by her parents, the bride is the daughter of Charles and Teresa Cole of Kinston. She is the granddaughter of Mildred Robinson of Kinston and the late Milton Robinson, and the late Hazel Barley, who also lived in Kinston.

The bride received a Bachelor of Arts in psychology and a master’s degree in counseling from ECU. She is employed with Riverside Regional Medical Center in Newport News, Va.

The groom is the son of James and Louise Felice of Woonsocket, R.I. He is the grandson of Leo Felice of Woonsocket, R.I., and the late Mary Felice; and Pauline Horent, also of Woonsocket, R.I., and the late Lucien Horent.

He received a Bachelor of Science in mechanical engineering from Worcester Polytechnic Institute. He is a senior mechanical engineer with Canon Virginia, Inc. in Newport News, Va.

Following a wedding trip to Quechee, Vt., the couple resides in Newport News, Va.

The bride’s cousin, Amanda Croom of Kinston, served as matron of honor.

Bridesmaids were Wendy Roberson of Kinston, cousin of the bride; Kate Felice of Brooklyn, N.Y., sister of the groom; Jamie Hughes of Kinston; Kristen Whitley of Cumberland, Va.; and Lynette Weaver of Greenville.

Haley Croom of Kinston was flower girl.

Matthew Felice of Coventry, R.I., brother of the groom, was best man.

Groomsmen were Ariel Atayde of Newport News, Va.; Eric White of Arlington, Va.; Sean Smith of Schenectady, N.Y.; Michael Bouley of Blackstone, Mass; and Jason Marquis of Cumberland, R.I.

The bride’s brother, Mark Cole of Kinston, and the groom’s uncle, René Horent of Smithfield, R.I., were ushers.

Reception/parties

Following the ceremony, a reception was held at The Boxwood Inn in Newport News, Va.

On Aug. 14, a bridal shower was given by Louise Felice at The Cakery in Woonsocket, R.I. That evening, the groom’s brother, Matthew Felice, hosted a bachelor party at the groom’s parent’s home in Woonsocket, R.I.

On Sept. 3, a wedding shower was hosted by the bride’s mother, Teresa Cole, at her home in Kinston.

On Sept. 10, a bachelorette party was given by the bride’s cousin, Amanda Croom, at her home in Kinston.

On Oct. 4, a wedding shower hosted by Carolyn Dough and Heather DePremio was held at Riverside Regional Medical Center in Newport News, Va.

On Oct. 6, a wedding party hosted by Belinda Black was held at Canon Virginia, Inc. in Newport News, Va.

On Oct. 7, a rehearsal dinner was hosted by the groom’s parents, James and Louise Felice, at The Boxwood Inn in Newport News, Va.
