Hill-Mooring

Caroline Kinlaw Hill and Edward Trent Mooring were married at 6 p.m. May 17, 2008, at St. Mary's Episcopal Church in Kinston. The Rev. Allen Michael Singer officiated the ceremony.

Given in marriage by her father, the bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Stephen Britt Hill of Kinston. She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Duffy Dennis of Ayden and Mrs. Robert O'Neil Hill Sr. of Hookerton and the late Mr. Hill.

The bride is a graduate of Arendell Parrott Academy and attended North Carolina State University. She was presented to North Carolina society by the Terpsichorean Club of Raleigh in 2005.

The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Claude Jerry Walton of Kinston and Mr. and Mrs. James Edward Mooring of La Grange. He is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Edward Case Mooring of La Grange and Mrs. Yancey Ziegfield Foss of La Grange and the late Mr. Foss.

A graduate of Parrott Academy and Barton College, with a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration and finance, the groom is a vice president and loan officer at The Little Bank in Goldsboro.

Following a wedding trip to St. Barthelemy, the couple will reside in Kinston.

The bride's sisters, Claire Elizabeth Hill and Mary Abigail Hill, both of Kinston, were maids of honor.

Bridesmaids were Laura Wheeler Clark of Raleigh; Lauren Faye Curtis of Greenville; Jane Stancil Walton of Wilson; Manuela Wicki of Wolhusen, Switzerland; and Heather Minges Wiggins and Jessica Oettinger Wilder, both of Kinston.

The flower girl was Anne Grayson Lindley of Kinston.

The groom's father was his son's best man.

Groomsmen were Henry Alexander Easley IV and Alonzo Clay Edwards III, both of Wilmington; Edward Matchet Herring and Robert Franklin Mooring III, both of Greenville; Ryan Thomas Killinger, Brian Carey Wiggins and William Nelson Wilder Jr., all of Kinston; Patrick Louis Mills and Oliver Gray Wheeler IV, both of Raleigh; John Isaac Southerland of Birmingham, Ala.; and Jerry David Walton and Zacharia Harris Wiggins, both of Wilson.

Oliver Chase Jones of Weddington was the ring bearer.

Readers were Corey Patrick Fader and Walter Scott Newton II, both of Kinston.

Program attendants were Annaliese Sutton Gillette of Greenville and Julia Wright Grady of Kinston.

Register attendant was Kathryn Kennedy Edwards of Kinston, and Sean Charles Anglin of Kinston was crucifer.

Acolytes were Lauren Ellis Marie Sale and Tilden Louise Mauck, both of Kinston.

 

 Reception/Parties

Immediately following the ceremony, a reception was given by the bride's parents at their home.

On Dec. 2, an engagement party was given by friends of the couple at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Billy Taylor in Kinston.

On March 16, an English tea and bridal shower was given by Nina Hill, Cortney Stallings, Kimberly Hill and Elizabeth Gatlin at the home of Nina Hill in Kinston.

On April 19, a Greene County pig picking was given by Mr. and Mrs. Tom O'Brien and Mr. and Mrs. Mike Jones at the O'Brien cabin in Snow Hill.

On May 15, a cocktail dinner was given for the wedding party by Mr. and Mrs. Robbie Hill at their home in Kinston.

On May 16, a bridal luncheon was given by Beth Edwards, Susan S. Grady and Cathy Sale at the Edwards home in Kinston.

On May 16, a rehearsal dinner was given by the groom's parents at the Kinston Country Club. Family and friends gave a wedding eve dance, following the dinner at the club.
