Mosley-Chapman
Starsheema Lashell Mosley and Dontrieze Kenyatta Chapman, both of Kinston, were married at 4 p.m. Aug. 9, 2008, at St. Augustus AME Zion Church in Kinston. Elder Kelly Miller of Grifton officiated.
Escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents, the bride is the daughter of Roy and Christine Mosley of Kinston. She is the granddaughter of the late Marshall Croom and Mary B. Lee, and great-granddaughter of the late L.F. Mosley and Jannie M. Mosley, all of whom lived in Kinston.
The bride is attending N.C. Wesleyan College, majoring in criminal justice. She is employed as a case manager with the N.C. Department of Corrections.
The groom is the son of Donnie and Rosa Chapman of Kinston. He is the grandson of the late Frank Daughety and Gloria M. Williams, who lived in Kinston; and the great-grandson of the late Willie and Rosa Bell Chapman, who lived in Grifton.
The groom is attending Winston-Salem State University, majoring in exercise science/biology. He is employed as a counselor with the N.C. Department of Juvenile Justice.
Following a wedding trip to Myrtle Beach, S.C., the couple resides in Kinston.
The bride wore a strapless, beaded lace corset ball gown with a satin pick-up skirt. It featured iridescent lace appliqués and a lace-up back attached to a chapel-length train.
Her fingertip veil with pencil edge and pearls flowed from a princess sequined tiara. She carried a cascading bouquet of white roses, accented with pink orchids and needle point ivy.
Tiffany S. Jones of Kinston was maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Dawn S. Chambliss of Kinston, Brandi J. Howell of Winston-Salem, and the groom's sister, Natasha L. Shackleford of Spring Valley, N.Y.
Flower girls were the couple's daughter, Tiyah O. Chapman of Kinston, and the groom's cousin, Taleah N. Gunter of Greenville.
The groom's brother, Tyler J. Chapman of Kinston, served as best man. Groomsmen were Defonte T. Coleman of Durham, Adrian J. Gooding of Tarboro, and the groom's cousin, Ronald J. Watson of Anderson.
Ushers were Chris Cantey of Raleigh; Henika Lloyd of Lumberton; and the groom's cousins, Edwin Chapman of Grifton and Tony Turnage Jr. of Greenville.
Anthony L. Johnson of Spring Valley, N.Y., the groom's nephew, was the ring bearer.
Music was provided by organist, Dominic Powell of Kinston. Vocalists were Terrial Suggs of Kinston and Kemisha Rouse of La Grange.
Gwen Wynn of Kinston was the wedding director. The groom's cousins, Mary Chapman of Hampton, Va., and Shakema T. Sanders of Greenville, were register and program attendants, respectively.
Reception/Parties
Following the ceremony, a reception was given by the groom's parents at the Frink Alumni Building in La Grange.
The reception was coordinated by Regina Locust of Fayetteville. Hostesses were the groom's cousins, Deidre A. Daughty of Kinston and Tania Chapman of Hampton, Va., and Latonya S. McCoy of Greenville. The souvenir attendant was Gina R. Dixon of Greenville, the groom's cousin.
On Sept. 3, 2007, an engagement luncheon, "Spirit of Norfolk, Va.," was given by the groom's parents.
On July 27, a lingerie shower was given by Dawn Chambliss and Tiffany Jones at the Jones home.
On July 30, a miscellaneous shower was given by friends of the bride at the bride's home in Kinston.
On Aug. 8, an after rehearsal party was held at J's Place in Kinston for out-of-town guests.
On Aug. 8, a bachelor party was given by the groom's cousins, Domika Dunn and Darryl Chapman.
On Aug. 8, rehearsal dinner was given by Mr. and Mrs. Little, aunt and uncle of the groom, at their home in Kinston.
