Lee-MacGovern

Robin Paige Lee and Michael Charles MacGovern, both of Wilmington, were united in marriage at 6 p.m. June 20, 2009, at Brunswick Plantation in Calabash. The bride's uncle, the Rev. Chris Singleton, officiated the ceremony.

Escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents, the bride is the daughter of Bob and Nancy Lee of Ayden. She is the granddaughter of Doris Barfield of La Grange and the late Earl Barfield, and Louise Lee of Robersonville and the late R.B. Lee.

The bride is a graduate of East Carolina University with a Bachelor of Arts in theater education. She is a theater arts teacher with New Hanover High School.

The groom is the son of Charles and Charlene MacGovern of Medina, Ohio. He is the grandson of Charles and Katherine Wagner of Cleveland, Ohio, and Charles and Helen MacGovern of Parma, Ohio.

A graduate of the University of Akron, he is a special education teacher with New Hanover High School.

Following a wedding trip to Riviera Maya, Mexico, the couple resides in Wilmington.

The bride's sister, Amy Lyerly of Holly Springs, was matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Dana Hancock of Greenville, Melissa Raynor of Wilmington and Season Comstock of Smryna, Ga. Honorary bridesmaids were the groom's sister, Erin MacGovern of Medina, Ohio; Kelly Aycock of Wilmington; Christy Riechenberger of Charlotte; and Jennifer Asch. 

The bride's niece, Ava Claire Lyerly of Holly Springs, was the flower girl.

Best men were Adam Schulz and Darryl Raynor, both of Wilmington.

Groomsmen were the groom's father and Steven Schulz. The bride's nephew, Asher Hayes Lyerly of Holly Springs, was the ring bearer.

Music was provided by Chuck Phillips, guitarist, and Patti Williams, violinist.

Candace Stambolitis and Brooks Buck directed the wedding. Program attendants were the bride's cousins, Nichole Lee and Jenna Lee.

 

Reception/parties

Following the ceremony, a reception was given by the bride's parents at Brunswick Plantation. Greeters were Danielle Talani and Sara Rocchiccioli, both of Ohio. Bubble attendants were Peyton and Karsen Barfield and Harrison Myers.

On March 21, a dinner and dance was given by the Barfield and Jenkins families at The Mad Boar in Wallace.

On April 24, a bachelorette weekend given by the bridesmaids  in Charlotte included a Dave Matthews concert.

On April 24, a bachelor weekend included a golf and casino cruise in Myrtle Beach, S.C.

On May 16, a Mexican fiesta was given by Darryl and Melissa Raynor, and Betty and Travis Raynor, at the Darryl Raynor home in Wilmington.

On June 19, a bridesmaids' luncheon was given by the Lee family at the Parsons Table in Little River, S.C.

On June 19, a rehearsal dinner was given by the groom's parents at The Isle's Club and Restaurant at Ocean Isle.

On July 4, an after-wedding party was given by the groom's family in Ohio.
