Mr. and Mrs. Stephen Martin of Salisbury announce the engagement of their daughter, Meredith Christian Martin of Elizabeth City, to Jay Thomas Briley, also of Elizabeth City, son of Dr. and Mrs. A. Brantley Briley of Kinston. A Nov. 7 wedding is planned at First United Methodist Church in Salisbury.
