Spence-Cordero

Kelly Marie Spence of Hookerton and Jose Antonio Cordero of Kinston were married at 3 p.m. Sept. 27, 2008, in an outdoor wedding held at the home of the bride's aunt, Jeffrey and Teresa Patrick of Grifton.

Dr. Rick Anderson of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Kinston officiated the ceremony.

Escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents, the bride is the daughter of Joseph and Robin Spence of Hookerton. She is the granddaughter of Kathleen M. Bratten of Grifton and the late Johnnie J. Bratten.

The bride is a 2005 graduate of North Lenoir High School and is employed with Kelly Services.

The groom is the son of Antonio Cordero Manriquez of Zapote, Mexico, and Reina Lopez Acosta of Mendosa, Mexico. He is the grandson of Sostenses Cordero-Rodriguez of Zapata, Mexico; Alejandra Manriquez-Compos of Zapata, Mexico; Ostolia Acosta Ribera of San Jose, Mexico; and Bernardo Lopez Ribera of Mendosa, Mexico.

The groom is a 1999 graduate of San Jose Mendosa High School in Salamanca Guanajuato, Mexico. He is employed with J & J Mechanical as an installer.

Julie Tyndall of La Grange was maid of honor. Angelina Alonso of Kinston, cousin of the bride, was the flower girl. The groom's son, Alex Cordero of Grifton, was ring bearer.

Immediately following the ceremony, a reception was given by the bride's family at the Patrick home.

The couple resides in Lenoir County.
