Reagan Elizabeth Hardy and Franklin Todd Howell were united in marriage at 6:30 p.m. Dec. 5, 2009, at Queen Street United Methodist Church in Kinston. The Rev. Jason McKnight performed the ceremony.
Presented by her father, the bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Murphy Hardy Jr. of Kinston. She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lynwood Lee Smith of Kinston, and the late Mr. and Mrs. William Murphy Hardy, who lived in Snow Hill.
The bride is a graduate of Kinston High School. She received a Bachelor of Arts degree in journalism and mass communication from the University of North Carolina. She is the co-founder of Southern Proper, a men’s clothing label based in Atlanta.
The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Franklin Howell Jr. of Washington. He is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Franklin Howell Sr. of Plymouth, and the late Mr. and Mrs. Truman Harris, who lived in Washington.
A graduate of Washington High School, he received a degree in business administration from East Carolina University. He is a wardrobe consultant for Coffman’s Men’s Wear in Greenville.
Following a wedding trip to Peter Island, British Virgin Islands, the couple resides in Greenville.
Matron of honor was Emilie Claire Henderson Howard of Atlanta.
Bridesmaids were Tara Makarechi, Christin Leigh Hartsfield, Joni Harrison Lay, Stephanie Anne Naglich, Virginia McKenzie Tinley and Laura Elizabeth Steinemann, all of Atlanta; Stephanie Williams Tarbet of Greer, S.C.; Wheeler Carol Burns of Gainesville, Fla.; and Lindsay Rebekah Roofe of Nashville, Tenn.
Junior attendants were Laura Elizabeth Dawson of Kinston and Katelyn Murphy Hardy of Snow Hill.
Flower girl was Lillian Grace Albritton of Kinston.
The groom’s father served as his son’s best man.
Groomsmen were Winston Thomas Howell; Smith Cameron William Hardy of Kinston; Myron Rex Teaney III, Jonathan Robert Workman and Bradford Earl Osborne, all of Greenville; Matthew Paul Belcher and Jonathan Charles Broyles, both of Raleigh; David Robert Broyles of Rocky Mount; and Douglas Scott Conklyn of New York, N.Y.
Greeters were Michael Anthony Williams of Greenville and Amy Rebecca Inlow of Charleston, S.C. Program attendant was Ansley Hill Kuhlke of Atlanta, and register attendant was Melissa Gaffoglio Porter of Acworth, Ga.
Acolytes were Meredith Tate Teaney and Cameron Gray Teaney of Greenville. The crucifer was James Andrew Ellis of Greenville.
Vocalists included James David Carter of Atlanta and Tammy Stocks Dawson of Kinston.
The Bible bearer was Emerson Thomas Howell of Winterville.
Readers were Christina Gayle Buchanan and Elahe Hessamfar, both of Atlanta, and Liana Alexis Dalila D’Anjou of St. Louis.

Immediately following the ceremony, a reception was given by the bride’s parents at their home.
On Aug. 15, an engagement party was given by the bride’s parents at their home in Kinston.
On Sept. 26, a town and county soiree was given by friends of the bride at The Powell Farm in Gainesville, Ga.
On Nov. 6, a bridal shower was given by Mary Catherine White, Linda Sullivan, Donna Malone and Patsy Erwin at the bride’s parents’ home.
On Nov. 28, a Christmas shower was given by Maudith Elam, Susan Herring and Suzanne Wooten at the bride’s parents’ home.
On Dec. 3, a barnyard soiree was given by the bride’s family at the Perry Fun Farm in Kinston.
On Dec. 4, a groom’s lunch was given by Michael Williams at Starlight Café in Greenville.
On Dec. 4, a bridal luncheon was given by Barbara J. Perry, Theresa Abernathy, Gale Walton, Betty Blaine Worthington and Suzanne Wooten at the Perry home in Kinston.
On Dec. 4, a rehearsal dinner was given by the groom’s parents at Chef and the Farmer. Family and friends gave a wedding eve dance following the dinner at Select.
