Hardy Lane

Ashley Yvonne Hardy and Christian Michael Lane, both of Raleigh, were married at 4 p.m. March 30, 2008, at Northwest Christian Church in Kinston. Anthony Braswell, pastor of Northpark Church in Raleigh, performed the ceremony.

Escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents, the bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Dale Hardy of Kinston. She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Edward Mathews of Bethel and Mr. and Mrs. Dick Hardy of Tarboro.

A 2002 graduate of North Lenoir High School and 2006 graduate of the University of North Carolina, she earned a Master of Elementary Education degree in 2007 from East Carolina University in Greenville. She is employed by Wake County Schools as a teacher at Cedar Fork Elementary School.

The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. David Terry of Jacksonville and Mr. and Mrs. Akira Lane of Granbury, Texas. He is the grandson of Mrs. Tae Lane of Jacksonville, and the late Mr. and Mrs. Charlie Humphrey, who lived in Belgrade.

A 2002 graduate of White Oak High School in Jacksonville and a 2006 UNC graduate, the groom is employed in Raleigh by the state of North Carolina.

Following a wedding trip to the Caribbean island of St. Lucia, the couple resides in Raleigh.

The bride wore a formal gown of white Italian satin with an overlay of French needlepoint re-embroidered Alençon lace encrusted with Swarovski crystals, iridescent sequins and seed pearls. Matching scalloped French needlepoint re-embroidered Alençon lace outlined the strapless, custom designed sweetheart neckline, which flowed into a sweetheart back accented by covered buttons.

The princess A-line skirt swept into a flowing formal cathedral train with an edged hemline of scalloped French needlepoint re-embroidered Alençon lace.

Her formal, cathedral-length white silk veil was edged in French needlepoint re-embroidered Alençon lace with identical encrusted Swarov-ski crystals, iridescent sequins and seed pearls.

Her reception fingertip-length veil, made by her mother, was designed of delicate white silk tulle with matching bridal gown French needlepoint re-embroidered Alençon lace appliqué.

She carried a classic rose garden bouquet of cream Virginia roses, Blush Sophia and Titanic Pink roses, enhanced with Italian ruscus, hand tied with satin ribbon and pearls.

The bride's sister, Ruthanne Hardy of Kinston, was maid of honor.

Bridesmaids were Erin Aldridge of Winterville, Amanda Childress of Raleigh, Erica Griesdrieck of Chapel Hill and Julia Vosnock of Wilmington.

Honorary bridesmaids were Jennifer Whitley of Snow Hill; and the bride's cousins, Caty Mathews of Farmville, Stacey Harrelson of Charlotte and Grace Harrelson of Tarboro.

Junior bridesmaids were Madison Hardy of Tarboro and Taylor Mills of Greenville, cousins of the bride.

Flower girl was Abigail Hardy, cousin of the bride.

Best man was Ryan Rhodes of Cary.

Groomsmen were James Hite of Charlotte and William Hite of Wilmington, the groom's cousins; Levi Goins of Chapel Hill; and Kyle Marshburn of Charlotte.

Ushers were the bride's cousins, Ben Harrelson of Tarboro, and Eason Mathews and Asa Mathews, both of Farmville.

Wedding director and floral designer was Evelyn Mozingo.

Scripture readers were Emily Goins of Chapel Hill and Joshua Baird of Kinston.

Music was provided by pianist Jacob Mewborn; and vocalists Mary Ann Braswell and Anthony Braswell of Raleigh, and Karen McGlamery of Kinston.

 

 

Immediately following the ceremony, a reception was given by the bride's parents at Walnut Creek Country Club in Goldsboro. Music was provided by "The Carousels." Greeters were Mr. and Mrs. Charlie Hester.

On Feb. 2, a bridal tea was given by the groom's relatives in New Bern at the home of Teresa Humphrey.

On Feb. 16, a lingerie/bachelorette party was given by the bride's friends at the home of Erica Griesdrieck in Chapel Hill.

On Feb. 23, a bridal shower was given by the bride's relatives in Tarboro at the Main Street Inn.

On March 8, a bachelor party was given by friends of the groom in Raleigh.

On March 9, a bridal shower was given by the bride's friends in Kinston at the home of Jane Maloney.

On March 18, a surprise breakfast shower was given by the kindergarten team and attended by the staff and co-workers of the bride at Cedar Fork Elementary School.

On March 29, a bridesmaids' luncheon was given by the bride's relatives at the home of Kim Evans in Greenville.

On March 29, a rehearsal dinner, themed "Italy by Candlelight," was given by the groom's family at Falling Creek Country Club in Kinston.
