    Rice-Coons

    Pamela and Jupp Rice of New Bern announce the engagement of their daughter, Elizabeth Kate Rice of New Bern, to James Samuel Coons of Cherry Point.

    The bridegroom-elect is the son of Gabe and Dona Coons of Hartford City, Ind.

    The bride-elect graduated from New Bern High School and is a senior at ECU.

    The bridegroom-elect graduated from Blackford High School, Hartford City, Ind., and attends Park University and is a corporal in the United States Marine Corps.

    A wedding is planned for Dec. 20, 2008 at First Baptist Church in New Bern.
