NIT: North Carolina, N.C. State in field

North Carolina and N.C. State were among 32 teams named to the NIT men's basketball tournament bracket Sunday evening.

The Tar Heels and Wolfpack could meet in the quarterfinals with a spot in New York City's Madison Square Garden on the line. The semifinals and finals are played at MSG.

North Carolina will play William & Mary at home on Tuesday at 9:30 on ESPN. The Tar Heels are seeded fourth, and the Tribe fifth in their quadrant.

N.C. State will visit South Florida on Tuesday at 8 p.m. on ESPNU. The Wolfpack is the sixth seed and South Florida the third in their quadrant.

Virginia Tech was the only other team with ties to either the ACC or the state of North Carolina to make the field. The Hokies are a top seed and play host to Quinnipiac on Wednesday night.
