Police identify Taco Bell shooter

A juvenile who police say blasted a shotgun inside the Western Boulevard Taco Bell and injured a bystander last week was still on the run late Wednesday.
The male juvenile has been identified by detectives and a secured custody order has been issued, said Capt. Billy Houston of the Jacksonville Police Department.
"Since he is younger than 16, we cannot release his name," Houston said.
Police have also filed a juvenile petition for a charge of assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious bodily injury.
Police say the July 3 shooting was the result of a verbal argument between the juvenile and another male earlier in the night.
That argument escalated, and at 9:30 p.m., the juvenile entered the Taco Bell and removed a shotgun from under his jacket, police said.
As the juvenile took aim at the person he had been arguing with, a Taco Bell employee unintentionally bumped into the juvenile, Houston said.
The juvenile missed his intended target and shot a potted plant.
The overspray from the shotgun blast struck a bystander in the arm, Houston said.
The juvenile ran away. The injured bystander was transported to Onslow Memorial Hospital, treated and later released, Houston said.
Representatives of Taco Bell's corporate office did not immediately return phone messages about the incident.
Police are withholding the names of the bystander and the shooter's intended victim for investigative purposes.
