Amber Collins - Kevin Purifoy

 Amber Collins of New Bern and Kevin Purifoy of New Bern were united in marriage April 5, 2008, at Tabernacle Baptist Church with the Rev. John Thompson officiating.

The bride is the daughter of Dalton and Becky Collins of New Bern and the granddaughter of Edgar and Elsie Collins of New Bern and Paul and Inez Jones of Decatur, Ala. The bridegroom is the son of Joey and Jane Purifoy of New Bern and the grandson of Janice Purifoy of New Bern and the late Joseph Purifoy Sr., and Betty Harben of Hendersonville and the late William Harben.

The bride was given in marriage by her parents.

Nuptial music was provided by vocalists Jerry Cloninger and Johnny Thompson, pianist Martha Alligood, and Michael (trombonist) and Karen Bently (trumpeter).

Maid of honor was Sarah Collins of New Bern, sister of the bride.

Bridesmaid was Allison Stilley of New Bern. Rylee Williams was the flower girl.

Best man was Joey Purifoy of New Bern, father of the groom. Groomsman was Jeffrey Purifoy of New Bern, brother of the groom. Ushers were Stephen Williams of New Bern and Mark Collins of New Bern. Andrew Scott was the ringbearer.

Assisting with the wedding was Melisa Thompson.

A reception, hosted by the bride's parents, was held at Tabernacle Baptist Church.

The couple took a honeymoon trip to the Bahamas.

The bride graduated from New Bern High School and Craven Community College and is employed by Craven Regional Medical Center as a nurse.

The bridegroom graduated from West Craven High School and is employed by BSH Home Appliances as a process specialist.

They plan to live in New Bern.
