Accident reports

The following accidents were reported by the State Highway Patrol:

Accident time/location: Nov. 11, 5:00 p.m., 14.8 miles southwest of Trenton on Huffman Town Road.

Driver: Tammy Lynn Kellum, 19, 3146 N.C. 58 N., Trenton, in a 1995 Nissan.

What happened: Kellum was traveling north on Huffman Town Road. Kellum was exceeding a safe speed and ran off the road on the left. The vehicle struck a ditch bank and came to rest off of the road beside the ditch.

Damages: Damages to the vehicle were estimated at $1,200.

Injuries: A passenger was transported to Onslow Memorial Hospital.

Charges: Kellum was charged with exceeding a safe speed.

Accident time/location: Nov. 12, 10:53 p.m., 7.3 miles north of Kinston on N.C. 58.

Driver: Ethan Michael Seay, 19, 2641 Prices Distillery Road, Clarksburg, MD, in a 2003 Dodge.

What happened: Seay was traveling north on N.C. 58. The vehicle crossed the center line to avoid colliding with a deer in the roadway. The vehicle ran off the road on the left and struck a ditch. The vehicle then overturned. The vehicle came to rest on it's left side in the ditch.

Damages: Damages were estimated at $5,000.

Injuries: None reported.
