Accident reports

The following accidents were reported by the State Highway Patrol:

Accident time/location: Nov. 26, 9:15 a.m., 8.4 miles northeast of La Grange on Wheat Swamp Road.

Driver: Unknown.

What happened: Driver One was traveling north on Wheat Swamp Road. The vehicle ran off the road on the right and struck a mailbox. The vehicle then crossed the center line, ran off the road on the left and struck a ditch. The vehicle came to rest in the ditch. Driver One fled the scene. Note: The vehicle was reported stolen with the Greene County Sheriff's Office.

Damages: Damages to the mailbox were estimated at $100; damages to the vehicle were estimated at $4,000.

Injuries: None reported.

Charges: None.

Accident time/location: Nov. 24, 6:12 a.m., 7.4 miles south of Kinston on N.C. 55.

Driver: Mindy Ireland Epps, 30, 503 Andy Lane, Kinston, in a 2007 Dodge.

What happened: Epps was traveling west on N.C. 55. The vehicle ran off the road right and collided with a tree. The vehicle came to rest on the shoulder of the roadway facing west.

Damages: Damages were estimated at $3,000.

Injuries: None reported.

Charges: Epps was charged with failure to maintain lane.

Accident time/location: Nov. 26, 6:15 p.m., 3.39 miles north of Kinston on Wallace Family Road.

Drivers: Corey Lanier Parker, Jr., 17, 2204 Canterbury Road, Kinston, in a 1992 Honda;

           Angelia Walker Howard, 41, 828 Central Ave., Kinston, in a 2009 Saturn.

What happened: Parker was traveling west on Wallace Family Road. Parker ran off the road on the right then came back onto the road and crossed the center line. Howard was traveling east on Wallace Family Road and ran off the road to avoid colliding with Parker's vehicle. Howard's vehicle went into the ditch and came back making a controlled stop on the shoulder. Parker's vehicle ran off the road on the left and struck the ditch. Parker's vehicle began to overturn and came to final rest upside down to the left of the roadway.

Damages: Damages to Parker's vehicle were estimated at $3,500;

              Damages to Howard's vehicle were estimated at $300.

Injuries: Parker and a passenger in Parker's car were taken to Lenoir Memorial Hospital.

Charges: Parker was charged with driving left of center.
