Richlands woman accused of stealing neighbor's identity

Wanda Lynne Starr, 36, of Appleton Lane in Richlands was charged Friday by the Onslow County Sheriff’s Office with 30 counts of identity theft and two counts of financial card fraud, according to warrants.

Starr is accused of taking the credit cards of her next-door neighbor and using them to obtain services and merchandise over a period of six months, said Sheriff Ed Brown.

“The Sheriff’s office received the initial complaint about her in June,” Brown said. “She would intercept the victim’s mail then bring it to her, so the victim would not receive the credit card bills and would not know she had been using her card,” Brown said.

Bonds totaled $40,000.
