Sarah E. Carter and Shane M. Beard, both of Richlands were united in marriage on Dec. 23, 2009, at First Baptist Church of Richlands. Larry Glover-Weatherington performed the 1 p.m. ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of Burl J. and Earlene I. Carter of Richlands.
The groom is the son of Melvin Beard of Richlands and the late Carol Beard.
The groom serves in the U.S. Air Force.
The couple took a honeymoon trip to Wilmington.
They will reside in Fairchild Air Force Base in Washington.
