No matches found.Pair caught allegedly stealing from Salvation Army
A New Bern couple was caught in the act stealing donated items from the Salvation Army Saturday morning.
Arrested and charged with felony breaking and entering and felony larceny after breaking and entering were Thomas Roy Seymour Sr., 58, and Carolyn Vondessa Doss, 30, both of 813 N. Craven St.
New Bern Police spokeswoman Beth Stevenson said an officer on patrol saw a man and woman take items from the organization’s donation shed. Police report that they saw the two load the items into a vehicle they had backed up to the building.
When the two saw the police approaching, they began putting the items back into the donation shed.
Police found flower arrangements, clothing, shoes and an assortment of other donated items from their vehicle.
The Craven County Department of Social Services also charged Doss with felony food stamp fraud. That offense occurred Jan. 27, according to warrants. Her bail was set at $4,000.
Seymour had warrants from Pamlico County for worthless checks. He was put in jail with his bail set at $4,000.
