SWANSBORO — An open house has been scheduled to give area residents an opportunity to share ideas on plans to make Swansboro a more bicycle friendly community.
The open house meeting will be held Monday at 6 p.m. in the Bicentennial Room of the Town Hall Annex, located at 601 West Corbett St.
The meeting will include a brief presentation from the town’s bicycle planning consultants, Greenways, Inc., on their initial work on a bicycle plan for the community as well as an opportunity for participants to talk with the project staff and the Bicycle Steering Committee about future bicycle paths and routes in Swansboro.
Attendees will be invited to both draw on maps and submit comments about how to improve bicycling opportunities. Residents can also submit comments regarding community bicycling needs at greenways.com/swansboro.
Development of the Swansboro Bicycle Plan is being funded in significant part by a $28,000 grant from the North Carolina Department of Transportation’s Bicycling and Pedestrian Program.
