Stewart-McElwee
Lisa Dawn Dawson Stewart and Eugene Mock McElwee, both of Wilson, were united in marriage at 11 a.m. Dec. 24, 2009, at First United Methodist Church in Wilson. The Rev. Dan Jones performed the ceremony.
Escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents, the bride is the daughter of Richard and Linda Smith Dawson of Kinston.
She is the granddaughter of Sue Hardy Smith of Kinston and the late J. Herman Smith; and the late Richard and Thelma Dawson, who lived in Trenton.
The bride received a Bachelor of Science degree from Mount Olive College and a master’s degree from East Carolina University. She is a media specialist at Greenwood Middle School in Wayne County.
The groom is the son of the late Col. Eugene and Maureen McElwee, who lived in Washington, D.C.
He received an Associate of Arts degree from Montgomery College and is an inside salesperson with CenturyLink.
Following a Bahamas cruise on the Norwegian Sky, the couple resides in Wilson.
Maid of honor was Sarah Robinson of Goldsboro.
Best man was Bernard J. Baxter of Oak Island.
