Public hearing on snapper grouper Tuesday

A public hearing will be held in New Bern Tuesday regarding the snapper grouper fishery.

The South Atlantic Fishery Management Council will hold public hearings regarding proposed measures, that include a closure of the red snapper fishery, for 73 species in the snapper grouper complex within the South Atlantic region that impact commercial and recreational fishermen, the Council said.

The meeting is from 3 to 7 p.m. at the Hilton New Bern Riverfront. Written and e-mail comments can be made until 5 p.m. Nov. 25. More information is available at the SAFM Web site.
