Hailey Diane Stroud of Pink Hill and Wesley Paul Head of Goldsboro were united in marriage at 5 p.m. Dec. 3, 2011, at Deep Run First Baptist Church. The Rev. David John Fishman performed the ceremony.
Escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents, the bride is the daughter of James Marion and Kaye Winstead Stroud of Pink Hill. She is the granddaughter of the late Quentin Stroud and Virginia Smith Lucus, both of whom lived in Pink Hill; and the late Lindsay and Ella Mae Winstead, who lived in Goldsboro. Mary Ruth “Tootsie” Harper of Deep Run is the bride’s honorary grandmother.
A 2005 graduate of South Lenoir High School, she received a diploma in Licensed Practical Nursing from Wayne Community College. She is employed as a licensed practical nurse.
The groom is the son of Paul Norwood Head Jr. and Jane Davis Head of Goldsboro. He is the grandson of Eleanora Head of Goldsboro and the late Paul Head; and Sallie Belle Davis of Mount Olive and the late Bill Davis.
A 1996 graduate of Southern Wayne High School, he attended Wayne Community College. He is employed with AT&T.
The bride’s sister, Rebecca Lynn Stroud of Pink Hill, was maid of honor.
The groom’s father served as his son’s best man.
After a wedding trip to Whitehouse Resort in Jamaica, the couple resides in Grantham.
Reception/parties
Following the ceremony, a dinner and dance was hosted by the bride’s parents at Southern Wayne Country Club in Mount Olive. Reception attendants were Mr. and Mrs. Donnie Strickland and Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Stroud, aunts and uncles of the bride.
On Oct. 22, a miscellaneous bridal shower was given by Faye Strickland, Barbara Horrell, Janice Newcomb, Heather Smith and Lisa Ferrell at Emmaus Baptist Church.
On Oct. 23, a holiday shower was given by Emily H. Brock, sister of the groom, and Mrs. Erlene Byran, the groom’s aunt, at the home of Dean and Emily Brock.
On Nov. 5, a Pampered Chef shower was given by Rebecca Stroud, the bride’s sister, at the home of Rebecca Stroud and Jerry Smith Jr.
On Nov. 6, a kitchen shower was given by Tootsie Harper, Susie Pearson, Ola Jean Stroud, Ginny Smith, Becky Smith, Shelba Hill and Daphne Pollock at Deep Run First Baptist Church.
On Nov. 19, a party was given by Muriel Brock and Amanda Sessoms at the Brock home.
On Dec. 2, a bridal luncheon was given by the groom’s aunt, Verlie Reeves of Mount Olive, at her home. This is when the bride thanked her attendants with their gifts. That evening, the groom’s parents hosted a rehearsal dinner at the Country Squire Restaurant in Kenansville.
