The following decisions were reached in Lenoir County superior court in December 2011. The presiding judge was the Hon. Cy Grant. Matters may be resolved as the result of a guilty plea or dismissal negotiated with the district attorney without a trial. Matters may also be resolved as the result of a trial during which the judge dismisses the case for insufficient evidence or renders a verdict of innocence or guilt. In any case in which a guilty plea or verdict is entered, sentencing is determined by the judge:
Rashawn Franklin, assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill, guilty, sentenced to 20-33 months in the Department of Correction.
Curtis Pate, fail to heed siren/driving while license revoked, (consolidated), pleaded no contest, sentenced to 120 days in the Department of Correction, suspended to 24 months supervised probation.
Shamyra Fisher, driving while license revoked, guilty, sentenced to 45 days in the Lenoir County, suspended to 18 months supervised probation.
Kenneth Kornegay Sr., domestic criminal trespass, pleaded no contest, issued prayer for judgement. Must have no contact with victim.
Moises Baltazar, driving while impaired, guilty, sentenced to 30 days in the Department of Correction, suspended to 18 months supervised probation.
Jennifer Washington, injury to personal property, pleaded no contest, sentenced to 120 days in the Department of Correction, suspended to 30 months supervised probation.
Alvin Hart, resist public officer, guilty, sentenced to 60 days in the Lenoir County jail.

Matters may also be resolved as the result of a trial during which the judge dismisses the case for insufficient evidence or renders a verdict of innocence or guilt. In any case in which a guilty plea or verdict is entered, sentencing is determined by the judge:
Roger Dale Strickland, sell marijuana, guilty; possession of stolen goods, pleaded no contest; (consolidated) sentenced to 15-18 months in the Department of Correction.
Dalton Tyre, no operators license, guilty, sentenced to 120 days in the Department of Correction, suspended to 12 months supervised probation.
Jasper Williams, possession of stolen goods, guilty, sentenced to 10-12 months in the Department of Correction.
