Two teens charged with vandalizing property

What two Jacksonville teens may have considered creative marketing, the Onslow County Sheriff’s Department calls criminal.

Michael Scot Fitch, 16, and Tirrell Christian Brown, 17, both of Timothy Road, were arrested Friday and charged with six counts of injury to personal property after being accused of spray painting a church, a convenience store, two residences and a construction site, according to a Sheriff’s Department press release.

A TV news piece about the vandalism led investigators to Fitch and Brown, according to the release. According to investigator Sgt. Tim Vincent, Fitch and Brown were bored and spray painted the sites to advertise a coffee shop, “Goth,” they planned to open.

Bond was set at $5,000 each.
