Three more file for Pamlico County municipal offices

Sun Journal Staff

BAYBORO - Three incumbents filed for municipal offices in Pamlico County on Wednesday, continuing a slow start to the filing season for the November general elections in nine towns.

Mayor Clifton Stowe, the only mayor of Grantsboro since it was incorporated in the late 1990s, filed for re-election.

Incumbent commissioners Carolyn Paradis of Arapahoe and Roosevelt Stokes Jr. also paid their $5 filing fees to get a spot on the ballot.

Just four candidates have filed in the first three days. Filing continues through July 17.

There are 47 elected jobs open for election in the towns, including mayors and board members.
