One injured in morning wreck

Updated at 2:05 p.m.

A woman injured in a morning wreck on N.C. 24 in Cedar Point has been airlifted to Pitt Memorial Hospital, officials say.

The woman, whose name is not being released at this time, pulled her green Plymouth out of her driveway into an oncoming white Tahoe, said Trooper R.L. Wallace.

Wallace said the woman is currently in serious condition.

CEDAR POINT — One person is on the way to the hospital after a wreck that happened at approximately 10:15 a.m. in front of the Kiwi Cottage in Cedar Point, officials say.

A Sports Utility Vehicle T-boned a smaller four-door vehicle at approximately 10:15 a.m., said Capt. Ingrid Meyers with the Western Carteret Fire Department.

“We had one go to the hospital and one that refused treatment,” she said.

Western Carteret Fire Department, the Cape Carteret Police Department and N.C. Highway Patrol responded to the wreck.

The North Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating the wreck.

N.C. 24 eastbound was closed due to the wreck and N.C. 24 westbound was down to one open lane while the scene was cleaned up.
