White-Bennett
Brittany Carol White of Clayton and Jason David Bennett of Coats were united in marriage at 4 p.m. June 27, 2009, at First Baptist Church in Kinston. The Revs. Stancil Baucom and Wayne Lee officiated the ceremony.
Escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents, the bride is the daughter of Bobby and Mitzi White of Kinston. She is the honorary granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Sutton. She is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. James E. White Jr., who lived in Cove City, and the late Mr. and Mrs. Willis Earl White, who lived in Dover.
The bride has a Bachelor of Arts in elementary education from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington, and a Masters of Education in reading from East Carolina University. She is a teacher with the Johnston County Schools.
The groom is the son of Connie Bennett and David Bennett, both of Lillington. He is the grandson of Sylvia Stancil of Lillington, Merle Byrd of Erwin, and Rachel Bennett of Lillington and the late George Bennett.
A graduate of Campbell University with a Bachelor of Science in elementary education, he is a teacher and coach with the Harnett County Schools.
Following a wedding trip to Charleston, S.C., and Lake Lure, the couple will reside in Coats.
The bride wore a one-piece full A-line gown designed by Jasmine from their Haute Couture Collection. Made of vintage ivory taffeta with beaded embellishments, the rouched bodice featured a fitted dropped waistline embellished with an embroidered beaded motif of Swarovski crystals, bugle beads, seed beads, glass beads and sequins. The skirt featured pickups throughout, with the back of the skirt cascading into a bubble-hem chapel train.
Her two-tiered, elbow-length veil flowed from a tiara of Swarovski crystals. She carried an English pavé in shades of pink flowers, accented with ivory ribbon and pearls.
Matron of honor was the bride's sister, Christy White Neal of Fuquay-Varina.
Bridesmaid's were Candi Turner Potter of Deep Run, Kate Nenni and Lannie Woolard of Clayton, Amy Craven of Kinston, Amanda Huerta of Wilson and Taylor Medlin of Raleigh.
Flower girls were the bride's niece, Lily Neal of Fuquay-Varina, and the groom's cousin, Payton Carney of Coats.
Jonathan Bennett of Fuquay-Varina, the groom's brother, was best man.
Groomsmen were the groom's father; Daniel Jernigan of Wilson; the groom's cousin, Jose Chavez of Newton Grove; Steve Tidd of Coats; Patrick Turner of Charleston, S.C.; and Michael Snyder of Buies Creek.
Ring bearer was the bride's nephew, Lincoln Neal of Fuquay-Varina.
Music was provided by organist and pianist, Tim Price. Vocalists were Mr. and Mrs. Daniel Jernigan.
Lynn Edwards directed the wedding. Register attendant was Beth Herring. Program attendants were Christie Irvine and Jamie Gilbert.

Following the ceremony, a reception was given by the bride's parents at the Kinston Country Club. Reception greeters were Vernon and Jane Cauley, and Joey and Dawn Hunter.

On April 26, a bridal shower was given by the women of Southwest Christian Church in Kinston.
In May, a wedding shower was given by the staff at North Harnett Primary in Angier.
On May 2, a luau shower was given by the groom's family at The Currin Complex in Fuquay-Varina.
