Williamson-Kennedy
Catherine Terrell Williamson and Joseph Paul Kennedy, both of New Bern, were united in marriage on Oct. 11, 2008, at the Carolina Yacht Club in Wrightsville Beach with the Rev. Lloyd Griffith officiating.
The bride is the daughter of Bill and Ann Williamson of Louisburg and the granddaughter of the late John Sr. and Evelyn Williamson and the late Allen Sr. and Catherine Cobb.
The bridegroom is the son of John Jr. and Dale Kennedy of Elkin and the grandson of the late John Sr. and Agnes Kennedy and the late Joseph and Jennie Brown.
The bride was given in marriage by her parents.
Nuptial music was provided by the Concordia Strings and trumpeter Leonard Franklin Sutton Jr.
Maid of honor was Temperance Williamson of Raleigh, sister of the bride.
The matron of honor was Cristina Williamson of Irvine, Calif., sister-in-law of the bride.
Bridesmaids were Kristen Bentzen of New Bern, Cathryn Caldwell of Los Angeles, Calif., Allison Goodson of Winston-Salem, Kristen Scott of New York, N.Y., Elizabeth Seeger of Raleigh, Jane Tarry of Raleigh, and Lindsey Ward of Annapolis, Md.
Best man was John Kennedy Jr. of Elkin, father of the groom.
Groomsmen were Adams Beshears of Elkin, Christopher Buck of Cheriton, Va., Barry Fadely of Raleigh, Jason Jernigan of Greensboro, William Jernigan of Asheville, John Kennedy III of Hillsborough, brother of the groom, John Williamson of Irvine, Calif., brother of the bride and Jenkins Williamson Jr. of Camden, S.C., brother of the bride.
Assisting with the wedding were wedding directors Lydia Warren and Allison Simmons.
A reception, hosted by the bride's family, was held at the Carolina Yacht Club, Wrightsville Beach.
The couple took a honeymoon trip to Bald Head Island.
The bride graduated from Peace College and works part-time in New Bern.
The bridegroom graduated from UNC Wilmington and is employed by Camp Sea Gull, Arapahoe, as an associate program director.
The couple plans to live in New Bern.
