Adams funeral to be held Sunday

    A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday for Army National Guard Sgt. Roger Adams Jr., 36, of Jacksonville who was killed in Iraq.
    The funeral will be held at Jacksonville High School with Chaplain Mike Koonce officiating.
    The family will receive friends from 6 to 9 p.m. Saturday at Johnson Funeral Home in Jacksonville.
    Before joining the Army National Guard, Roger, a father of four sons, served in the U.S. Marine Corps for 13 years. Roger was also a firefighter/EMT at Half Moon Volunteer Fire Department and was North Carolina Fire Fighter 1 and 2 certified. Roger also worked with Hatteras Yachts.
